About the Chapter
Chartered in 1920. Committed ever since.
The Derby City Alumni Chapter carries a century of Louisville leadership, rooted in the fundamental purpose of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Chapter History
A legacy built in the Derby City.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was founded on January 5, 1911 at Indiana University by ten men of vision who sought achievement in a climate that offered little of it. Nine years later, Louisville brothers chartered the Derby City Alumni Chapter and set that same standard in Kentucky.
Across generations, chapter members have led classrooms, hospitals, courtrooms, pulpits and boardrooms throughout the region — never separating professional achievement from community obligation.
Today the chapter's work centers on the young men of Louisville: guiding them, funding their education and showing them what is possible.

Leadership Philosophy
Achievement is a shared obligation.
We believe leadership is measured by what it leaves behind. Our officers serve terms, not tenures — and every initiative is designed to outlast the board that launched it.
Members are expected to mentor, to give and to show up. That expectation is the quiet engine behind every scholarship awarded and every student served.
